Diane Stoll

Several months ago, Dianne Stoll had a debilitating stroke that left her with no use of her right side, and unable to communicate, feed, or care for herself. Since then, she has gone from the ICU, to a hospital room, to a nursing home, and ultimately discharged and sent home. Her condition has improved only slightly. She can hold hands with her left hand, communicate by blinking her eyes, turn her head to acknowledge who is speaking to her, and in the last couple of days, can wiggle her left foot and toes (a little).

Her husband, Floyd, has been her only care giver. When the insurance coverage for a nursing home ran out, she was discharged to go home. Floyd had to get a hospital bed installed at the house. Our church has had a lift donated so that he can get her out of bed for a couple of hours each day. She has a feeding tube and he has to feed her every 4 hours. Floyd does this because the Social Security Administration has determined that he does not need a home health nurse, since Dianne has no wounds and Floyd had been trained on how to administer the feeding tube. As you can imagine, he has had to file for his Social Security so he could take care of her (by himself). His Social Security will not start till August. Dianne can not get long term disability from the company she worked for as they require her signature. She can not sign anything and for Floyd to get a “Power of Attorney”, it will cost him $3000 (which he does not have).

They both worked for “The Jordan Company” in Southeast Memphis. Each with about 25 years of service. If Floyd does not return to work, they will lose the insurance that they have. Floyd has informed me that they may lose the house, as he cannot pay for it with his diminished income.

Dianne has worked with the mentally challenged at Central Church and has volunteered to go to on mission trips. These two people have played by the rules and done everything by the book. Now the book is being thrown at them and they are in a devastating situation. Please prayerfully consider what God would have you donate to help these two wonderful people. I can assure you that you will be helping two very deserving, worthy people.
