- The Animal Hospital of Vandercook Lake is raising funds for our long-term receptionist and friend, Dane LaLonde. Diane has been a dedicated employee of the Animal Hospital of Vandercook Lake for 21 years. Diane managed the front office and always greeted everyone with a smile. She loved spoiling the patients and visiting with clients. After providing many years of dedicated service, Diane decided to retire this year. Unfourtanetley, after only four months of retirement, Diane suffered a stroke causing partial paralysis on her right side. Due to the stroke, Diane has been placed in an extended care facility to provide rehabilitation and physical therapy. She will likely be in the facility for at least four months, if not longer, depending on her progress. Diane's mobility must improve to be self-sufficient as Diane lives alone and has no children. Her family does not live locally but is doing all they can to support her at this time. Her long-term challenges will be financial. She will have extensive medical expenses due to her extended care and recovery. She will also face costs to maintain her home, vehicle and pets. Diane has always been willing to give her time and dedication to others. We hope that, as a community, we can give back to someone who has been such a blessing to so many lives.
