Hi-

I am starting this fundraiser for my friend, Diane Brewer. As many of you know, Diane was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.

Diane is incredibly strong, supportive, and generous. Her career as a nurse anesthetist allows her to care for patients needing surgery and obstetrical support. Diane's desire to help others does not stop there. She is a friend to many and provides significant support to her family.

Diane has been caring for her aging father over the past several years. She has made countless trips to care for him during surgical procedures, hospital admissions, and recovery efforts. Earlier this year, Diane's dad decided to enter hospice care. His biggest wish has been to remain in his house, and Diane generously decided to fully financially support him and his wish to stay home on hospice. Diane has also been supporting her sister while she attends graduate school and helps care for their dad. To support her family the way she has been, she has been working the equivalent of two full-time anesthesia jobs (trust me, the hours are daunting) for a very long time.

True to Diane's motto of "work hard, play hard," she works harder than I could even imagine. However, she also makes time for and finds joy in her hobbies. She loves concerts, travel, hosting dinner parties and game nights, and meeting with her sci-fi convention friends. Getting back to those things as soon as possible is important to her.

Diane's first (of likely many) surgeries is today, and I know she could use some support from all of us. Please help Diane with her medical bills if you can, or just send her messages of encouragement. She really loves that!
