DiAndre Blackwell Headstone Fund

Back in 2006 I met a girl who had two amazing kids. A year later I made that girl my wife and became father to those two kids. Since then I have been there when they were sick, helped them with homework, bathed, clothed and fed them, etc. But one thing I have always struggled with was how to comfort them when the subject of their biological father came up. You see their dad was murdered when my son was just a little over a year old and my daughter wasn’t even born yet. Now, after 15 years of no answers or arrests, I believe I have found a way to give my kids closure.

This past spring my wife took my son and daughter to visit their father’s grave in Oklahoma, only to be disappointed because they couldn’t find him. He was given no marker, no headstone.

To say they were devastated by the experience would be an understatement.

In the months following that trip I began to see that my kids were more distraught about their father’s passing than ever before. So this got me thinking that maybe, with the help of friends and family, I might be able to raise enough money to get the kids dad a proper headstone.

So I’m asking you, from the bottom of my heart, help me raise the necessary funds to make this happen. We are asking for a very modest amount, but if we raise more than the set goal that money will be used so that the kids can make the trip back to Oklahoma to see their father’s headstone properly placed.

Please help me give my kids the closure they so rightly deserve.
