Diana's Story; Life SUCKS!! Healthcare sucks MORE!!

Donation protected
New update from Diana:
It has been a long three months recovering from this untimely injury and trying to recover from the loss of my son. Still waiting to hear from disability and still not able to work. Having your income abruptly stop is definitely hard to get through. Everybody’s donation and help have made it so I have had less stress in the last three months and you have no idea how much Jim and I appreciate it. Still trying to learn how to manage the loss of Jimmy Lee, that is 100% harder than trying to heal or anything else I’ve had to deal with in life. I am out of the hard brace and into a soft brace now, spinal cord is still trying to heal and was told it could be up to a year or as good as it’s gonna get. That is hard to process. I still have issues with my hands and legs and a burning feeling with pins and needles all over my skin. Does anybody have any suggestions for that? that be great lol. Already on the max dosage of Lyrica that I can take. If you have any kind of home remedy or suggestion, please let me know. Again that’s the latest and just wanted to thank everyone for continuing to support us.

Current update: Diana is still home. We are doing physical therapy and exercises with her on our own because the health care system sucks and paperwork seems to be dragging on getting her on some out patient therapy approved. She is still unable to do much on her own without supervision but is getting better. Seems like she still has a long road ahead of her but there is promise and she is strong! Please keep your prayers coming and I am still asking for any donations that you can share as she has no income at this time and anything you can give will help keep her bills paid and ease things at home for a little while longer.

Update: So since our healthcare system is so screwed up and doesn’t care that she isn’t ready to come home…Diana came home this weekend. She still has paralysis in all her limbs and needs assistance in most of her daily tasks. While she IS getting stronger she still can’t do much on her own. We are still trying to get her home ready for her to go to her own home but life just keeps throwing everything at her!! Right now she is at our sister Connie’s house waiting to go home. The money raised so far has been spent to get the home ready which included a full redo on her guest bathroom that will be easily accessible from the bedroom that was redone for her to put a hospital bed in. A ramp with small porch has been built to get her in and out of the home only to be hit with the hot water heater going out. . WTF. I mean really! I can’t even make this crap up! They just need a break. For real now.

Thanks for all the shares, prayers and help but please keep sharing and donating. I’m trying to get some more money raised to get her caught up on bills for the month ands next month.

We have come to a point that I am asking for help for my sister and her family. December has been an absolute worst nightmare for anyone. Dec 9th she lost her son, James, at the age of 34 unexpectedly. This set things in place for a long, painful grieving period. Once they were able to have the funeral services, Diana had been off work for 3 weeks trying to cope with the pain of the loss. Diana and her husband Jim returned home finally on Dec 23rd, settling into the new normal, only to have a tragic accident on Dec 28th (her bday!!!) Diana fell getting out of bed, hitting her face and compacting her neck. The pressure and swelling on her spinal cord has caused paralysis and numbness through her body, leaving her unable to do even the simplest tasks like feeding herself or drinking anything alone. While the loss of her son was very traumatic, this has been far worse on her. At this time, they are saying she will have surgery soon and then 3 months of rehab and recovery. While they had a little bit put away for such instances, the funds have been depleted while off grieving her son's loss. We are reaching out asking for some help to cover expenses during this time. She is currently at the University of Iowa awaiting surgery. Anything will help, please share with everyone you can so we can relieve some financial pressure on them and she can focus on her care and rehab.
If you wish to make direct donations or gift cards for gas please reach out to me directly on Facebook or email [email redacted]

Thank you for anything. I will certainly keep everyone updated as things progress.
