Diana’s Battle with Multiple Cerebral Metastatis.

Hello Everyone,
My name is Udesh (former Lyceum International School student), and I want to share the story of my mother, Mrs. Diana Chandrakala Rubendra, and to ask for your support during this very difficult time in my family’s life.
Diana is a mother to me, age 18, and my younger brother who is 15 (current Lyceum International School student). Not only is she our mother, but she is the heart of the family that keeps us together. My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. After a long battle that we thought was over, she was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer in 2019, and is currently, at age 52, battling multiple cerebral metastasis. Our father passed away unexpectedly during the pandemic in 2021 due to COVID-19, leaving our mother widowed amidst her worsening condition.
Throughout her battle with cancer, my mother has tried chemotherapy, radiation, and an abundance of medication to no avail. Recently, doctors are pushing for her to take trastuzumab deruxtecan and sacituzumab govitecan injections triweekly, as they believe that they can drastically improve her condition. However, this will cost us 400000 Sri Lankan Rupees (~$1800 CAD) every three weeks, a cost that our family of 3 cannot currently afford.
Our family and friends are doing as much as possible to support the recovery of my mother, but it is unfortunately not enough. That's why I've reached out to our family friends in Canada to put together this GoFundMe, as it is not available in Sri Lanka. I’m writing to ask whoever is reading this to provide their support, whether it be through prayers or donations, to help our family through this difficult time. With your support, kindness, and generosity, we hope to give my mother the care she needs to continue fighting this everlasting battle with cancer. Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts.
Kind regards,
Udesh
