Diana Wright - the powerhouse that is our friend, teacher, colleague, family member, community superstar and costume extraordinaire is sadly undergoing cancer treatment.

We all know and love Diana for her passion to bring people together, to help others and deliver joy and sparkle to our everyday lives.

Always the first to put her hand up to help, you’ll see her in the canteen at the Ocean Grove Soccer Club, volunteering as a goal umpire at the Cobras Football Club, face painting hundreds of children’s faces at every opportunity, sourcing costumes for people for special occasions and of course, teaching our beautiful children at Surfside Primary School.

The eternal optimist, Diana has the ability to see the good in every situation and is always looking for opportunities to enjoy life to the full and bring everyone along with her.

Unfortunately, this life full of colour and sparkle that personifies Diana was turned upside down when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

Diana was about to return to teaching after maternity leave but has unfortunately had to put her career and income on hold while she undergoes treatment.

Diana and her husband Paul have three beautiful children, Layla (11), Samuel (7) and Thomas (1). With a family to support, one income and increasing medical costs, the Wright family have their work cut out for them.

Since her diagnosis, Diana has talked about finding “glimmers” in the everyday. She refers to these glimmers as moments that spark joy. It might be a hug, some thoughtful words or gifts or simply seeing her children enjoying life.

She has an incredible community around her who wish to give her reasons to find these glimmers, and this is our opportunity to do so.
