Our beloved mother, Diana Lynn Kanani Kahele-Patubo was a beautiful wahine inside & out & very much proud of her heritage being 100% Hawaiian and honoring those that brought her into this world, our Lord father, her Daddy & Mama.
Just like the meaning of her middle name "Beautiful" her spirit....the words she spoke and especially her lovely hula hands. Mom was like a rose that always believed in order to get those beautiful soft petals, we must go through some storms of life. We have seen our mother navigate through many thorns and seasons in her life and know with our whole hearts that she has reached her full bloom.
In April 2023 last year our mother was diagnosed by doctors that she had Stage 4 Lung Cancer. She didn't receive it in Jesus name...but she faced it & always stated she has no regrets, although was very stern still of making corrections & changes for the future and for us all.
Throughout moms treatments, she held strong in her Faith in God and his very words. She ensured each of us that God has had his plans all planned out for us already. As always his plan goes according to his timing and his only. Cancer spread fairly quickly faster than we could think of what to expect...like always mom woukd always say "God is in control".
The first week of Feb 2024, mom says she wants to go home...she just wants to go home after being in the hospital already since the 24th of January. Doctors were shooting for the goal that mom wanted and mom was doing her best, the very best she could. We made decisions together as siblings and she had one more night until we would take her home. All the memories in that short time she was talking and communicating with us weather its her writing on a tablet or making hand signs or trying to speak as clear as she could was all memories for us to have today. If you knew my mom she surely had a sense of humor and would make you laugh by her reaction. That next day came on Feb 6 2024 everyone looking forward moms arrival at home. Her condition changed rather quickly that morning and doctor had advised us that the ohana should come to the hospital to be with her to say their final farewells. Siblings and I moved quickly as possible to work with hospice on doing what we needed to get her home in Kapolei like she always spoke of. But like mom says, God had everything already planned out... Mom knew she wanted to go home..that was what we all fought hard for....but many of times it doesnt happen like we would have hoped for...God surely had greater plans for mom...plans for her to be in her forever home in the great heavens above. That white pickett fences where her Daddy, mama & her beloved husband she long for will be waiting for her as she would say. We believe God do answer and hear our prayers. He also knows what our very heart desires, and he knew what moms heart wanted..and only him. Ohana that loved her dearly, her grandchildren, her children just like she wanted before going home atlast ,was there gathered especially for her on that evening of February 6 2024. Mom did take her last breathe shortly during the time that we were so Blessed to have with her. We truly were Blessed to share the moment with our queen, now our Hawaiian angel.
Our ohana will be honoring our mother, our queen with a special service that she help plan and requested when God called upon her to be home. She believed in family coming together and through love we shall find forgiveness peace and true joy.
Following moms service will be having a "Celebration of Life" and scattering thee ashes of both our mothers and fathers ashes where they will finally be united in Love & Peace atlast in their forever home for all eternity.
Do leave your kind words here if you would like for the ohana, even just that touches our hearts from everyone near and far.
Any giving of any sort we are blessed with is greatly appreciated and will be going towards any expense after services that has already been paid, for our mothers funeral. It will also be going towards the Celebration of Life and any unpaid bill for moms and dads home they leave behind. Your love and contributions means more to us than you will ever know ✝️
Mahalo from our ohana
