Diana and her babes, through trials and tribulations ❤️‍

Hey friends
It is your favorite badass mom here, I went through more than before hence me coming back and asking for help.
to make a long story short, after DV I left state went through a homeless shelter program to get dropped for an arising medical issue after getting into one of the places they own with no chance to get to a doctor (they knew 4/5 of the medical issues prior to me even coming in for the interview) and because I speak up and stand up for myself, I’m now about to get dropped from the program. I am currently at a hotel and I’m trying to just get through the next week and keep my family at the hotel, any resources please reach out to me directly on Facebook.
also have this from someone who worked with my family and I, and this came from my case manager whom I was working with Alex Korin.
Diana is in urgent need of financial support after fleeing Connecticut following a near-fatal domestic
violence incident with the father of her children. She arrived in Colorado and has been residing at a
Family Shelter in the Denver Metro area up until a few weeks ago. Diana was working her program with
the support from her Case Manager up until her CM had to leave the shelter rather abruptly.
Immediately following her CM’s departure, the remaining staff turned on Diana, offering judgment and
intimidation to “keep her moving along” in lieu of the support and understanding she so truly needed.
While at the shelter, Diana and her boys were exposed to Crack/Cocaine that was being smoked in their
shared room as well as subjected to incredibly poor behavior on the part of another family who left a
plethora of medication both prescription and otherwise within arms reach of her toddlers. Diana did
everything right and reported this to her CM and the Operations Manager of the Shelter, and her CM was
able to address it and this family was told to exit the shelter. Apparently, the same day that the CM parted
ways with the agency, they reengaged with this family allowing them back into the shelter and thus
they’ve been allowed to continue this triggering and frightening behavior with impunity.
As a result of this shift in energy around her, this ordeal has led to Diana suffering a great deal physically.
For those of you who are unaware, on top of being a badass single mama of two toddler boys who are
profoundly disabled (nonverbal, autistic), Diana suffers from her own health issues including a birth defect
affecting her brain and spine along with sporadic seizures that are becoming worse as a result of the
amount of stress she’s under.
Diana was engaged, participating in her own planning for the future, working towards a goal of getting into
transitional housing that would allow her to go to school or work while her kiddos were in age-appropriate
care at the time her CM left. She repeatedly put off her medical care in order to achieve stability for her
boys and she was well on her way.
Once her Case Manager left, the tables turned immediately and remaining staff became standoffish,
refused to provide support that was put in place by Alex, and Diana was branded a liar despite there
being clear and consistent proof of the drug use in the room, the seizures, etc.
This has now reached a point where Diana was removed from the unit she was given (owned by the
non-profit) for a mental health break on Friday, taken to a hotel more than 30 minutes from the day shelter
and told she’s not sick, no one believes her, and she’s lazy, therefore not a good fit for this program. She’s
being exited from the shelter program due to no fault of her own.
As of right now, Diana is to be out of this hotel MONDAY, MARCH 10th, and while her old CM is working
to find her more emergency temporary housing, this takes time.
Please consider donating to keep Diana and her boys in the hotel until we can secure them housing.
