Support Diamond: Nurse Shot as an Innocent Bystander

Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

We are reaching out to you today heartbroken but incredibly grateful as parents. On 9/19/2026, our beautiful daughter, Diamond, was the innocent victim of a devastating bystander shooting. While we are thanking God every single day that she survived, Diamond now faces a painful and difficult road to recovery.

Diamond was walking out of a lounge after celebrating a friend’s birthday when a fight suddenly broke out nearby. Someone unexpectedly opened fire into the crowd. Being so close to the chaos, Diamond was hit multiple times in both legs. In a moment of pure survival, she managed to run for cover after being hit. To save her life and stop the heavy bleeding, she immediately took off her own clothing to tie them tightly around her wounds as an emergency tourniquet while waiting for EMS to arrive. Diamond was rushed into emergency surgery. The doctors were able to successfully remove two of the bullets, but they had to leave the remaining bullets inside her thigh because it was too dangerous to take them out.

Diamond is now back home, but her mobility is severely limited. She is currently relying on a walker to move around. Because of the trauma to her legs, she is completely unable to work until she can follow up with her orthopedic specialists to see when she can safely stand and walk on her own again.

She's a dedicated mother of one son and a registered nurse left without a safety net.

Diamond has dedicated her life to taking care of others. She is a registered nurse who has been with the company for a long time, but had to transition to a more flexible role while in school, and that role doesn’t have PTO or STD.

She has zero income coming in while she is out of work recovering. On top of her nursing job, Diamond is also a full-time student working hard to earn her Nurse Practitioner license.

This senseless act of violence has completely disrupted her education and her livelihood. This is why we need your help as her parents. We want Diamond’s only focus to be on her physical and emotional healing, and caring for her son, not the crushing stress of financial ruin or how she will pay for school as well as her household commitments.

Your generous donations will go directly toward: Basic monthly bills: keeping her mortgage, utilities, and phone paid while she has no income or PTO.

Orthopedic & Medical Care: Covering upcoming specialist follow-ups, medications, and hospital co-pays.

Physical Rehabilitation: Funding the intensive therapy she will need to transition off the walker.

Tuition & Educational Continuity: Helping her stay afloat with her Nurse Practitioner program expenses while recovering.
