Diamond needs our help to save her leg
Donation protected
Sunny’s Sighthound Help are trying to raise some funds for Diamond to have an urgent operation. Her owner Jane Wren is well known in the Sighthound community. She has done many things for charity and donated towards fundraisers herself with items which she makes.
Diamond came from Kent Greyhound Rescue in 2018 at 18 months old and she had been locked in a shed most of her life. She was scared of her own shadow. 6.5 years later she is still a little nervous but so different to the old days.
3 weeks ago she was running off lead at the beach as she usually does and just pulled up lame. Jane took her to the vets and they carried out X-rays which showed a slab fracture to her back leg. Her leg was put in a splint.
She managed to break 2 splints over a period of 2 weeks. The vets didn’t have anymore splints so Jane had to take her home unsupported but we were told that it ‘didn’t look right’. After further investigation the vet advised that she had ruptured a ligament and she needed surgery which was going to be in excess of £5,000. The other option being amputation or the unthinkable, euthanasia!
Jane wants to save her leg if possible but has nowhere near the funds to do this and insurance will not cover it.
I am doing this fundraiser as Jane has done a lot in the past supporting fundraisers for others and she really needs help herself now. No amount is too small. Diamond is a healthy girl and needs this surgery to be given a chance to save her leg.
Thanks in advance for your support. Diamond needs our help ❤️
