Sammy is currently undergoing dialysis treatment and experiencing kidney failure due to his lifelong battle with type 1 diabetes. In August 2023, his father, Maekele Embaye, unexpectedly passed and Sammy’s health soon deteriorated. Sammy is an amazing father to his 6 year-old son, Sham. Sammy lives in Eritrea but recently acquired an emergency Medical Visa and has flown to Turkey where he is currently hospitalized. ካብ ኤርትራ ሪፈር ተባሂሉ ንዝለዓለ ሕክምና (kidney transplant) ክትገብር ኣሎካ ስለ ዝተባህለ ኣብዚ ሳዓት እዚ ኣብ ቱርኪ ይርከብ።
