Dialysis Machine for Papa Harness
Donation protected
Our father, papa and mentor (Bob Harness) has recently moved to a rural farm in Central Viti Levu, Fiji and was recently diagnosed with kidney failure. He has since been on dialysis 3 – 4 times a week and travels 2 hours each way to get to the nearest clinic in Suva. At 83 this is becoming a struggle for him so we as a family have banded together to see about getting his own machine to be managed at home. Due to financial constraints, we turned to the Go Fund Me platform to raise financial support towards buying a dialysis machine and medication. The current cost of FJD200 per session and the drive is becoming a big strain for papa. As a family we will undergo training to manage the machine. We also hope that we might share the machine with anyone else in our area that requires dialysis and will be working towards this with the doctors in Fiji. I (Clarissa) am one of Bobs granddaughters and have been given permission from my grandfather to withdraw all monies raised on his behalf and transfer all funds over to Fiji for the purchase of the machine. From the bottom of our hearts we thank you in advance for your support and contribution towards our goals. The result of setting up a home managed machine for our papa will levitate the biggest burden of travel, stress and expense. Vinaka vaka levu from the Harness family in Fiji. Hearts and hugs to you all.
