In 2016, I was diagnosed with IgA Nephropathy, an autoimmune disease that affects the kidneys.

Unfortunately I have reached Stage 5 ESRD. In April, I had my peritoneal dialysis port placed. First surgery and placement didnt work. I had to have a second surgery to have it fixed. It was great cause treatments were done at home. Peritoneal dialysis worked for about 3 months but then dialysate fluid started going in my lungs. This caused shortness of breath, and a partially collapsed lung. I had 2 ER visits and was admitted for a night too. They did 2 thoracenteses(draining fluid from my lungs) and placed a chest port for hemodialysis.

I have been on in center hemodialysis for 3 weeks now. It is 3 times a week from 12:15-4:15. This schedule is very limiting and is not allowing me to work much due to the treatment schedule. I have to have dialysis to survive. My sister is going to be tested the end of this month to be a potential donor. If that pans out I will have a living donor. The transplant surgery costs $6k if she is cleared. The money I am asking for will also be used for the surgery.

I am usually the one to help others so asking for help is difficult for me. The money I am asking for is to help cover bills while I have a limited availablity due to my dialysis treatment schedule and help paying for treatment cause I owe $5k so far. Due to working 12-18 hours a week I may have to start paying for my benefits too. My husband just lost his new job the other day as well.
