Diagnostic test for Sir Jakey Poo

Hi all! If you are here, you know how much I love my fur babies. They are an extension of me. Earlier this year, I lost two fur babies, Luna and Pepper, within one week of each other. During that time, I spent about $5k trying to offer them the care that they needed. I am still paying that amount back at this time.

Jake was diagnosed with early kidney disease in March 2025. He has been on prescription food ever since. His energy levels increased and he has been doing well. I took Jake for a 6-month follow-up to get another senior panel completed. This time, I took him to a Cats Only vet. The vet suggested we do the senior panel with T4 and a BNP to check his heart enzymes. The vet called me with the results and said that his heart enzymes were extremely elevated but would need further evaluation through an ultrasound of his heart and kidneys to get a proper diagnosis to start him on medications and create a plan for him. This follow-up vet visit cost $530! Now the rough estimate they gave me to get the ultrasound is approximately $700-$800.

I am asking for help because I can’t bear the thought of losing another baby this year. Jake has been with me for 14 years. If I can add a few more years to his life, I will do anything in my power to do so. Any assistance would be entirely appreciated.
