Diagnosis of Glioblastoma [Melanie & Ashton Goins

Hi my name is Ashton Goins and this is a fundraiser, and update of information for my mother Melanie Goins.

On the morning of August 31st, Melanie Goins was rushed to the Holland Hospital ER after suffering from a seizure in her home while sleeping.

At the emergency room testing and a MRI were preformed, showing a 5.9 cm mass [tumor] on her left frontal lobe.

A surgery was then scheduled at Holland Hospital for September 19th to remove as much of the tumor as possible.

It was a successful surgery, with the primary surgeon Dr. David Lowry, and his team removing 95% of the tumor.

Melanie returned home only 1 day after brain surgery(a craniotomy) feeling better then she had prior to the operation.

Healing and recovery were going very well, but on the day of October 10th we got a call that the biopsy results were back and the mass was malignant.

Melanie is facing stage 3 brain cancer (astrocytoma grade 3), and will be undergoing chemo and radiation treatment.

While being on chemo medication, and undergoing radiation treatment 5 times a week Melanie will be unable to return to her job as a factory worker.

The treatments will be out of town in Holland. A 40 minute drive one way from where she lives.

During this difficult time we are asking for, and appreciate any and all help.

Any donations, shares, prayers, positive energy, positive thoughts, and comments are all greatly appreciated.

Any donations will be used for monthly bills, groceries, or gas money to get to and from appointments.

Melanie is a very strong and hard working woman; an amazing mother, sister, and friend to many. She loves her family.

She is a fighter who plans to approach this the same way she has every goal. 1 step at a time, and as something that she WILL accomplish.
