My name is James Dolly and I’m a musician in Dallas Fort Worth area. Diablo, my cat, has critical ketoacidosis and is hospitalized right now after suddenly becoming lethargic, weak, unable to stand, and extremely thirsty. He needs three days in the hospital to get his insulin levels stabilized so he can start insulin treatment and come home, but this is only the beginning of the care he will need. He’s being held at the ICU in hillside Veterinary animal clinic off Mockingbird Road in Dallas, Texas. If you would like to donate directly to Diablo’s Care at the clinic, you can call them at (214) [phone redacted]
Diablo is my best friend in the whole world. He and his twin brother, Lucifer, are eight years old, and because I work from home, Diablo is with me through everything. He sits on my lap while I work, acts like the boss of the house, and I call him the mayor because his meow sounds like he is saying it. He loves drinking running water straight from the faucet and getting foot and belly rubs. Seeing him so weak has been heartbreaking, and I know his care is going to change the way I approach life in general because he will need treatment all day, every day.
- I have already paid more than $5,000 in emergency vet bills, but I had to take out loans to do it. I have 12 months to pay those loans back without interest. On top of that, Diablo will need ongoing follow-up care after he comes home. Donations will help cover:More than $5,000 in emergency vet bills already paid through loans
- Twice-monthly checkups at $500 each for the next three months
- Insulin that costs about $200 every three weeks
Because Diablo's needs will continue over time, recurring donations would make a real difference in helping me keep up with his checkups, insulin, and loan repayment as his care continues. If a recurring gift is not possible, one-time donations and shares are also deeply appreciated.
I am asking for help so I can focus on keeping Diablo stable, cared for, and at home with me. Any support for Diablo, my little mayor, would mean so much to us.
