Diabetic therapy dog for Romella
Donation protected
In July of 2014, Romella at 4 years old was in a severe accident that required a lengthy hospital stay, multiple surgeries, months of healing, and years of physical therapy. In May of 2016, it was discovered that her accident had activated the type 1 diabetes that she inherited. She is now 6 years old and struggles daily with not only her physical conditions, but also her unstable blood sugar levels. She does not show any signs when her levels are high or low, which makes it hard to control. A diabetic thereapy dog would be able to alert her and us when her levels are getting too high or too low. They would be able to go everywhere together, and it would bring a great comfort to her and her whole family. Getting a therapy dog for diabetes is a long and expensive process. They have to be trained to sense her blood sugar levels. Please help her in any way that you can. Thank you.
