I’m writing on behalf of my beautiful and loving mother Maryann. My mother has been a diabetic for 15 years and we have always managed her diabetes very well by having her on a strict diet while she takes her insulin. However this year she ended up with clogged arteries in her left leg and had stents put in. About 3 weeks after the stents were placed one collapsed and underwent another surgery to have it replaced. 2 weeks after that procedure the other one collapsed and underwent another procedure however this procedure the dr proceeded to say the veins in her foot were crumbling and its because the diabetes has diseased her veins. Which is why the stents were also collapsing. You all are probably wondering why they just didn’t change the stents when the dr had to change the first one and that was all due to insurance. She developed 2 large wounds that were not healing because 2 reasons the first is because when your a diabetic wounds take a much longer time to heal and second because she had lost all blood flow to the foot which then resulted in her having to get her leg amputated. There are so many things that insurance won’t cover and that would be the outdoor chairlift to get my mother up the steps and having to change the bathroom to make it accessible for her to shower. The insurance also is not fully covering her prostetic leg. My father is disabled as well and these funds are hard to come by. I want to be able to let my mother get a second chance at life because she deserves every moment of her new beautiful life. She deserves to be able to walk with her grandchildren. My mom is one of the most amazing people I will ever know. She’s beautiful on the inside and out and those who have met or know my mother will say the same thing. So I am asking for help to let my mother get this second chance. Diabetes isn’t something to blame someone for because it can happen to a child or at any age in someones life. I know times are very hard but if you can help in any donation amount my family would be forever grateful.
