Diabetic Alert Dog Fund: Michelle’s Quest for A Pup!

Donation protected
Hi hi! I’m Michelle, and I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a dog for some time now. But, being the over-thinker I am, I told myself that if I was going to get a dog, it had to be more than just a cute face giving me the undivided attention that both it and I deserve, it had to do something. I’m a Type 1 diabetic, and while I’ve managed things pretty well since I was five, let’s be honest...life happens, and sometimes my management hasn’t been as good as it could be. I’ve had some pretty scary episodes in the past few years that have made me realize I could use a little extra help.

Cues super cute“diabetic alert dog” to enter the room. Diabetic Alert Dogs of America trains dogs to detect changes in blood sugar levels and alert me before things get out of hand. They often sense changes even before my CGM (continuous glucose monitor) notices. The catch? These amazing pups come with a hefty price tag, it's costing me about $18,500. So, while I’m not asking you to cover the whole thing (I’m not that bold, nor would I ever accept that), any contribution would help ease some of the financial pressure and bring me closer to having the extra support I need.

If you know me, you know I hate asking for help, and I’m not one to accept anything huge, so I’ll be forever grateful for any small contribution...like, if you wanted to skip one of your daily coffees, that would seriously mean the world to me ◡̈
