Diabetic Alert Dog for Two
Donation protected
I am asking for financial help to obtain a diabetic alert dog from Diabetic Alert Dogs of America for Logan and I.
"Trained Diabetic Alert Dogs are certified service dogs for Diabetics. These amazing dogs alert their owners in advance of low or high blood sugar events before they become dangerous, so that the owners may take steps to return their blood sugar levels to normal. These dogs are specifically trained to react to the chemical change produced by blood sugar highs and lows. Diabetic Alert Dogs can provide emotional security and a sense of balance for individuals and their families. Diabetic Alert Dogs can help their handlers lead a more confident and independent lifestyle."
If you know us, you know that this past summer (2023) was rough. Not only was I in the hospital, but Logan was too. We both believe that if we had had a Diabetic Alert Dog we would more likely to not have been.
We would be so grateful to have help with this process.
A savings account under Margaret Haviland and Logan Haviland has been set up at the First National Bank in Battle Lake. All donated funds will be transferred there to be used toward our dog. Donations can be sent or dropped off there too.
Please check out the Diabetic Alert Dogs of America website to see videos of their training process and what these dogs can do for their human(s) with diabetes!
