Hello, my name is Graciela, I am 24 years old. The reason for this fundraising effort is to cover the cost of my daughter's medication. She is a little warrior. Her name is Heidy Alejandra, she is 7 years . And unfortunately 6 months ago she was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. It was quite difficult for us to find out about that, very painful. She was also on the verge of death and I didn't know her condition. We currently live in Madill, Oklahoma, and since everything happened so quickly, she was in very serious condition and was transported by helicopter to the children's hospital in Oklahoma City. I felt devastated to see her so ill. She no longer recognized me, she had severe uncontrolled hyperglycemia, her sugar levels were at 500 and she had severe ketoasidosis. At that moment, I wanted to die of pain when I saw her like that, but I tried to be as calm as possible and above all strong so that she would get really hard for 3 days in intensive care and thank God they managed to control the ketoasidosis she had after that. They moved her to intermediate therapy. She was already much better. There she lasted another 3 days. From the moment we left the hospital, our life changed radically. These 6 months have been pure insulin. In her body during each meal I check her glucose level to be able to count the carbohydrates she is going to consume and thus be able to inject the dose of insulin she needs. It takes two types of insulin, one is fast-acting, its name is Lantus, the second is for each food, it is short-acting, its name is Humalog. I am so grateful to God for letting me have my daughter. With me because seeing her on the verge of death filled me with pain, I also give thanks for all the people who, upon seeing this, will help me and donate something from their purse. I am not doing it for the purpose of making money. No harm done at all. I'm just telling you a little about the experience I had when I found out that my daughter has diabetes. I heard about this platform that helps people like my daughter and me.
