Hi, my name is Dave and I'm fundraising on behalf of Angelo my Chihuahua as he needs surgery following a Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) Tear as a result of an ongoing Luxating Platella that some dogs are prone to. For those of you unfamiliar with the condition, it's when the kneecap spontaneously dislocates and can cause further damage (in Angelo's case, it spun around 180 degrees and caused the CCL Tear).
His vet has referred him to a specialist orthopedic surgeon who has concluded that surgery is necessary (urgently, as soon as possible).
As you can see from 1 of the photos, he can't put any weight on the affected leg and the bottom half of the leg swings freely.
The surgery has confirmed that his insurance will cover the procedure, but the problem is the policy stipulates an excess, due before surgery. This excess will amount to £1600, and this is what I'm fundraising for, being a pensioner, I sadly lack the money to pay for this myself.
He's in a lot of pain all the time, and I have to carry him up and down stairs, and now he's restricted to very short lead walks. As opposed to what he's used to, which is running round the park off the lead with all his friends and he's very much missing that.
Please help us get Angelo out of this pain and get his life back.
