Update 11/16
Hi all, I cannot possibly express how astonished and grateful I am for the generosity and amount of donations we received. The outpouring of warmth has been far greater than what I expected.
Walter passed last night and I was too overwhelmed to put out an update. Seeing as we are still receiving donations I am obligated to tell you that the support we are looking for as of now is just enough to cover the hospital bill and cremation service.

I am so sick to my stomach and cannot accept that this is the outcome. We were too late and I will carry that weight for the rest of my life.
My apartment feels off now and Walter's footprints surround me and consume me.
Our other two cats are noticeably distressed, and Walter's best friend, Snoogy, keeps revisiting the last few spots Walter was in before he left the home for the last time.

Walter was an extremely soulful and human-like cat. He was always pondering life and you could see the complexity of thought in his eyes. Far too soon, he has been released from the monumental weight of his own existence.

I appreciate everybody's continued kind words. It has helped me beyond you all know.

And for God's sake, if you have cats or know someone who does, NEVER let them near lilies. I'm sick over the fact that this is not common knowledge. Keep your babies safe and don't make the same mistake we did. We are paying for it dearly.

Hi, my name is Michele and I am trying to raise money for my daughter whose cat is in intensive care right now for lily poisoning.
Hannah saw Walter online on a rescue website and had some weird and crazy connection with him just from his picture. She couldn't stop thinking about him.
So, we drove an hour and a half to Elijay to rescue this cute baby boy from Homeward Bound Rescue in May 2021. He was actually returned to the shelter because he wasn't wanted by the first family who adopted him. He was the size of our hand!
Walter is only 2 years old. He is my first grand fur baby. Hannah is devastated.

This is in her own words:

My little boy Walter is suffering from lily poisoning. He is currently in intensive care and whether or not he recovers depends on the funds I can put towards this. Time is limited and I have run out of options. I cannot live without his soul penetrating stares, his careful muffins, and his strange need to chew on nothing (phantom munches) when he's deeply comfortable. Whatever you can possibly spare I am forever grateful for. If you know me, you know I never ask for money, but I am standing in a dark hole of desperation that I have never been in before. Thank you for even taking the time to read this.

-Hannah

PLEASE, if you can find it in your heart to donate any amount to help us save Walter, it is truly appreciated and we would be so grateful. We love him deeply.
