Fund for Doug Brown, Sr.

As many of you know, it has been a rough couple of years for the Brown family and, unfortunately, we have hit another bump in the road in 2018.

My Dad (Doug Brown, Sr.) was sick in bed with what we thought was the flu for a good portion of December and then on Wednesday, January 3rd, he was rushed to the hospital with a very severe infection in his foot. Thankfully, we got him to the hospital in time to save his life. However, they had to do emergency surgery and amputate below the knee on his left leg. The infection has taken a toll on his body and he has had to go through two more surgeries. This infection came about because he has been living with Type 2 Diabetes that has gone undiagnosed. The next step after he heals will be physical therapy here in the hospital, which means he will be an in-patient for at least another month.

Many of you have asked what you can do to help and what the family needs is help with the bills that are continuing to pile up while he is in the hospital. Dad is a consultant and only gets paid when he works and since most of his work is in the field surverying, we aren't sure when he will be able to work again. We are thankful that he is alive but this is a life-changing event because he is now disabled along with being a newly-diagnosed diabetic. (To assist him, I am taking over his finances for the foreseeable future.)

I can't thank you all enough for the prayers thus far; they have definitely helped!
