The Gift of Hearing!

Hello there!
My name is Rachel and I’ve come to you all for a little help! Well, actually a LOT of help….but I believe I’ve come to the right people to get the job done!
For those of you that don’t know my mom Janie, she’s a kind and generous woman! Her unfailing love for her family is remarkable to witness and if you’re on the receiving end of that love, it’s even more remarkable.
For those of you that do know my mother personally, not only do you already know about all of her amazing qualities. You also probably know that she has always been “hard of hearing!”
But what most people don’t know, is my mother is legally deaf.
While she has “survived” by developing the ability to read lips, or to position herself with her best hearing ear (which is still at a legally deaf level) towards the person talking, or setting her TV volume at 64, only to still have the closed captioning on, or attending church every Sunday, but never actually hearing a word the preacher says, or missing out on conversations, memories, music and laughter and never complaining once. I would strongly argue that, yes, her strength is admirable…..but, she shouldn’t have to be THAT strong.
That‘s where we come in!
My Mom doesn’t often ask for help. So instead of waiting for that day, that may or may not come. I figured I would take matters into my own hands!
Mom has been offered the profound gift of hearing!!!
With the help of her incredible doctor, they found hearing aids that will work with her decreased/decreasing hearing loss. With her latest hearing test, she tried on a pair of trial hearing aids and the results were life changing!!
However the trials, are just trials and the need to purchase the real deal is approaching quickly.
The excitement, joy and overall quality of life for my Mom is my driving force to ask for the help she needs.
With the help and generosity of a few friends and family members, we’ve been able to secure a chunk of change to put towards the hearing aids. But it still leaves $2,800 left to come up with!
Power in numbers is what I’m banking on (pun kind of intended) and ask that even if you aren’t in a position to donate, that sharing this page would be equally as beneficial.
I so appreciate all the help we’ve received thus far and send my never ending gratitude for the help we receive moving forward!
Let’s help my Mom hear!!!
