Mo needs us.
Cancer is a beast. It takes and takes, until you feel like you have nothing left to give. And then it takes a little more. It’s unbearably hard—indescribably and immeasurably hard—and that’s just the treatment side of things. The physical toll of cancer and it’s difficult treatment can be seen and measured, but what most people don’t see is the emotional, financial, and heart wrenching effects that it also takes. You’re not yourself, you cannot be yourself. You adjust to survive and withstand the “temporary”, and simply endure. And its. So. Hard.
Mo has been through it—and still has treatment to go. Mo finished her chemo treatments recently, but not without multiple adverse side effects and lasting long term changes to her mind and body. She is now undergoing radiation treatment, and will be for the next several weeks. She has done this with outward grace and strength, but internally—our friend is struggling.
Due to the toll that treatment has taken on Mo, working is difficult and she likely will need to take more time off in order to rest. And her treatment course was unfortunately extended due to the severe side effects from her chemo. Mo and her family have unfortunately also incurred some unforeseen financial implications outside of treatment. The struggle to continue to support her family and herself without a steady income has caused her much stress, anxiety, and concern—nothing she needs right now.
In the spirit of mothers day, please join me and many others in helping to continue to support Mo. It’s not easy to ask for financial help, and I can attest that it comes with great humility to reach out and say, “I need help.” Mo has let down her guard and made this statement—so let’s step up and help a woman that would give everything to another human in need if she could. Let’s celebrate and support this WONDERFUL mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend. Let’s help Mo!
