Help Us Preserve America’s Oldest Narrow‑Gauge Passenger Coach!
Our current restoration project is the Delaware & Hudson Canal Company Coach No. 3, built in 1867. It is the oldest surviving narrow‑gauge coach in the United States and the third oldest in the world—a truly irreplaceable piece of American railroad history.
We currently own the car and have kept it safely stored indoors.
Update – March 20, 2026
We are thrilled to announce that we have secured a permanent indoor shop and display space at the Loyalsock Valley Antique Machinery Association (LVAMA) in Ralston, Pennsylvania. LVAMA has generously provided a secure building large enough to house Coach 3 along with several other historic railroad artifacts in our collection.
This new home will allow the public to see the coach up close, follow its restoration, and learn about its remarkable history. The move to Ralston is scheduled for the end of March 2026, and we look forward to partnering with LVAMA to further their mission and share this artifact with visitors for years to come.
Why We Need Your Help
We still need to raise $3,000 to cover the cost of transporting the coach from Honesdale, PA to its new home in Ralston.
Additional funds from this campaign will support the next phases of restoration.
Every donation—large or small—helps preserve this one‑of‑a‑kind piece of American heritage.
FYI, we have a set of trucks to go under this car. They'll also be moved to Ralston in the coming months.
