Scholarships for Sweetwater grads

Have you heard of the “Butterfly Effect”?

It states that a butterfly flapping it’s wings on one side of the world can cause a change in the air molecules around it that cause a change in the air molecules around them and on and on. Until, eventually, those changes lead to a hurricane on the other side of the world.

The butterfly effect applies to people too. 

Everything we do, every conversation, every act we commit leads to changes beyond ourselves.

So, helping a struggling teenager who longs to continue their education, their passion, can lead to enormous results. Possibly historic, world changing results. 

The student who trains to be a teacher may inspire the next doctor who discovers a cure for a fatal disease. The student who studies botany may discover a way to feed millions of people. 

Today’s students face taking on crippling student loan debts to get the training they need. They need our help, financially, to become successful in their chosen field.

Each year the Sweetwater Woman’s Club awards a scholarship to one graduate from each of the 12 high schools in the Sweetwater Union High School District.

Our scholarships go to students who are applying to Universities, Community Colleges and Trade Schools.

We look for graduates who have have had difficult challenges to overcome in their lives and yet they have succeeded and excelled. They have proven they are worthy.

Be a butterfly, flap your wings.
