Donation protected
It's so difficult to reach out this way to ask for help but we are desperate. Yesterday afternoon, Jojo dislocated her hip while simply doing her "happy-dance" when her Mama came home. We rushed her to the emergency clinic at the SPCA where they took x-rays and determined the hip was dislocated and required an orthopedic surgeon - which they could not offer at their location. They sent her home with pain meds and a list of specialists we can try.
At the moment she's home but in terrible pain; she cannot walk at all - so she can't move to bring herself to a pee pad or eat on her own. She's terrified and confused and it's ripping us to pieces seeing her this way. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19 we are in a very bad place. There are few specialist clinics taking appointments and although we've secured a consultation with surgeons, we simply cannot afford this untimely expense. Just 2 weeks ago, we broke the bank to pay for our other dog's spinal surgery! Both my boyfriend and I lost our incomes in the weeks surrounding the shelter-in-place order. So in a matter of weeks, we have somewhere around $20k in vet bills and stalled income.
We know many many people are in difficult financial situations as well right now, and we know that not everyone can afford to help but we are praying we can pull the funds together to get our girl back on her feet and out of excruciating pain.
