Kam's Krew

Meet Kameron “Kam” Paterson, a 30 year old Lake Havasu resident, who had been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia in December 2019. He had been treated with an oral medication to combat the cancer and had very low percentages of Leukemia in his blood until just recently. Kam is a hard working, dedicated husband to Jaimie; a father to his daughter Marley and friend to everyone that he meets. If you are looking for him, he is probably running in circles trying to help anyone he can.

Kam has been coming to Lake Havasu City since he was just 4 days old. His birthday is June 30th and Lake Havasu has been the vacation spot for his family multiple times every year, especially July 4th. After he was first diagnosed with Leukemia, Kam's wife, daughter and himself decided to move to Lake Havasu City permanently, as it is closer to family. Since moving he has been an employee of former Cowboys RV Mart and now Hava Style Recreation, starting as the Sales Manager and has now become the Service Manager.

In December, Kam had a routine check up with his doctor to check his levels and from October, at his previous appointment, until December, his numbers went from minimal/non-concerning up to 4%. This is when they ordered him another bone marrow biopsy on Friday January 7th, 2022. By Tuesday, the doctor had called to set up a teleconference with Kam and his wife to let them know the results. Kam's numbers had gone from 4% to 42% in less than a month, turning his Chronic Myeloid Leukemia into Acute Myeloid Leukemia - basically crisis stage. Kam was informed of his options and was recommended to a doctor in Houston, Texas who specializes in and is conducting a trial on this specific Leukemia. Being that he needs treatment immediately, Kam and his wife are leaving Tuesday, January 18th, 2022. This has definitely been unexpected news and not something anyone could ever prepare for. Luckily, Kam does have health insurance; however, both he and his wife are going to be out of work for some time as he receives treatment out-of-state.

If you can donate anything just a little helps we just want to ensure that he doesn't have to worry about finances and his family while he is receiving treatment to fight this!! Many fundraisers will take place over the next couple of months to help Kam and his family with bills, travel expenses as his wife will be traveling back and forth and any other expenses that they may accumulate.
