Greg VanNote fights kidney failure
Donation protected
These are my best friends Amy & Greg VanNote. During routine blood work as part of managing his Crohn's disease, Greg was given the news that his Creatinine level was a little high. He started treatment with high dose predisone in hopes it was an acute issue or was possibly reversible.
Unfortunelty, the steroids did not work and Greg's kidney function has become critical. He is now in end stage renal failure and must begin life sustaining dialysis.
Due to the very physical nature of Greg's work as a Journeyman HVAC he is unable to continue working.
Greg and Amy have two young children ages 6 and 1 and for Greg not to work is a devastating blow to this young family.
They will be facing a long road of medical expenses as dialysis and the medications he requires are very expensive despite health insurance. Dialysis is only a treatment; it is not a cure, so he will be dependent upon it until he is able to find a kidney donor and receive a transplant.
Let me tell you a few things about Greg; he would be the first one in line to get tested as a match if someone he knew needed a kidney. He is one the most hardworking, loyal and caring guys I know.
If you can't consider the opportunity of giving the gift of continued life by donating a kidney ( understandably it is a pretty big commitment, after all), please consider assisting him with living & medical expenses at this time. All donations are directly deposited into Amy & Greg's bank account.
If you are interested in being a Living Kidney Donor/potential match for Greg, please contact Amy via email at [email redacted] and contact the ECMC transplant center at [phone redacted].
Thank you all so much in advance for helping in any way you can. If you cant help with expenses please we ask for prayer.
We will be planning a benefit to support Amy and Greg in the coming months and any help with that would be appreciated. If you are interested in helping or donating in that way please contact myself Ann Dutchess via email at [email redacted]
