Was a beautiful July 15th day in 2017 and Dave was driving around the area on a Saturday morning looking for garage sales, which he normally does , came up to a intersection where he had no stop sign and proceeded to enter the intersection , was struck on his passenger side door from a younger man who missed the stop sign on his side of the intersection. What happened after was Dave being upside down in his car for over an hour waiting for someone to come along to even notice the accident. Dave recalls thinking he was not going to make it , then the jaws of life and someone telling him he was lucky to be alive. He was air-lifted to St. Michael's in Toronto with serious injuries, that were not life- threatening, but are definitely lifestyle threatening. Dave just started a new job and has bills like everyone, plus the addition of this situation, that will include a lot of rehab on knees and legs that are in very bad condition. I can't begin to imagine or even estimate what will be needed on a journey like this, but whatever can be spared for a guy like Dave , who we all know would give his shirt , pants and whatever else you needed off his back to make sure everything was good. The people who know Dave , will already know this and will do whatever they can to help big Switz get through the most difficult time in his life and help the people around support him.
