Harvey's Heroes!

So I think it’s time now to share on a wider spectrum what we as a family are about to face.

Our Son, Harvey woke up back in late February this year with a painful knee, this became more progressive over these past months, Doctors apps were non existent so I took our Harvs to a&e where the Dr pushed it, pulled it and said it was a sprain.

I voiced to the Dr a 16 year old boy doesn’t just wake up with a ‘sprain’. He sends us on our way and says if it’s not better in 6-8 weeks bring him back, as the weeks went on his lower Femur started to change shape and get bigger - so, week 6 I took him back. We saw the same Dr. This time he put Harvey through for an xray. Same Dr said the xray is clear and that he will contact GP surgery to book an MRI.

3 weeks after we see this Dr at a&e we get a call from a different Dr that says he thinks he may see a grey area in his lower femur where he is having the pain, they want to see him in the morning for bloods and an MRI. We go in and the Dr shows us what she can see on the xray, Harvs has his bloods and MRI is booked for the Saturday.

Saturday comes, MRI is done. Friday after MRI we are contacted by a Lovely Nurse called Claire at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore, where she gave us the news we never ever imagined…

Our perfect Son in every way has been Diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare type of bone cancer our world is now upsidedown.

It will be a month this Friday that we had his diagnosis. We’ve spent more time in london these past 3/4 weeks than we ever have.

Tomorrow Harvey has his Picc Line fitted at UCLH ready for his Chemotherapy treatment to start next week. He will need Chemo AND surgery. Although they will try their very best to save his leg there is a high chance they may not be able to. He will have two rounds of 5 weeks of chemo then on week 11 he will have surgery, then all going well two weeks recovery then a gruelling 20 weeks of chemo after surgery.

Through the chemo Harvey and myself will have to stay in a medical hotel in london Monday to Friday every week he has chemo.

This is all so much to process, to digest and to fight. But we’ve got this, Harvey’s got this!! He’s strong, he’s young, has a zest for life and he’s beautiful no matter what. ♥️

So we're now setting up this go fund me to help support with all of Harvey’s needs and as a family. I along with a few others will be shaving our heads with Harvey to raise money and to show we’re doing this with him by his side. He is not alone and never will be.

As most of you know he is an absolute petrol head and unfortunately after passing his first year level 2 mechanics will now be unable to continue until he is fully recovered. So for now we move on to his second passion of music.
He wants to learn to produce, which is something he can do wherever he is.

I love our boy ♥️ Always positive no matter what, truly an inspiration.

We all love you and support you so much my Boy. It’s gonna be a rollercoaster! But we’ve got this shit in the bag TOGETHER!

Let’s whoop Cancers arse my G! ♥️
