Grammy K & Papa Vic Need Our Help

In early December, Grammy K was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor (Glioblastoma Grade 4, IDH wildtype, unmethylated). Unfortunately, at this time there is no cure for this type of brain cancer, and all medical professionals can do is offer “treatment” to hopefully slow the tumor’s growth. Grammy K’s treatment plan is broken down into two segments. The first segment entails undergoing radiation and chemotherapy. The second segment entails chemotherapy, and the use of alternating electric field therapy.

This news is obviously devastating to our family, and all those who Grammy K has impacted over the years. Unfortunately with this news also comes the reality of what this diagnosis means in terms of financial ramifications for Grammy K and Papa Vic. That is what brings us here; Grammy K and Papa Vic need our help. They both continued to work, despite being technically retired. Now neither is able to do so, and they are facing unexpected expenses (i.e. medical bills and care). While we are all praying and hoping to see a miracle, there is also the reality of end of life expenses should it come to that, and the anticipated loss of Grammy’s K social security retirement income if she passes (all of which will greatly impact Papa Vic).

Her medical team has made it clear that this first portion of the year is the time to do any “bucket list” items, and spend as much time with family and friends as possible. We are trying to navigate the financial ramifications of this situation, while also trying to make this time the best that Grammy K can have. A portion of the funds raised will go to helping pay for Grammy K and Papa Vic to complete some bucket list items. Grammy K has expressed the desire to go to Disneyland and Hawaii, both of which allow her to stay close to a Kaiser facility.
