Our family is reaching out for help during the most difficult moment of our lives. Our mom, Patricia a loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend — is currently being held in an ICE detention facility. She is 52 years old and the devoted mother of three daughters, Jenny, Brittney, and Lindsey. She has lived in the United States for 32 years, with her entire family here, including her U.S. citizen daughters and parents. This country has been her home for decades, and she has never had a criminal record. She was taken during a routine check-in, and we are fighting every day to bring her back to where she belongs: home with her family.

Our mom is the heart of our family and the kind of person who makes the world softer just by being in it. She has always worked to better herself, no matter the obstacles she faced. After arriving in the U.S., she enrolled in english classes, earned her high school diploma and GED. She is intelligent, funny, and endlessly giving — the person you can call at 3 a.m. in an emergency and she will show up without hesitation.

Her passions are simple but meaningful: reading, cooking, baking bread to share with neighbors, knitting scarves and beanies for friends and family, tending to flowers (her favorite color is pink), and being deeply involved in her daughters’ education. She attended every school performance, every parent-teacher conference, every “coffee with the principal,” and volunteered at our schools whenever she could. Her love for her family is at the center of everything she does.

Being separated from us has been incredibly painful for her and for all of us. She is not a danger, not a criminal — she is a mother who needs her family, and a family who desperately needs her back.

Estar separada de nosotros ha sido increíblemente doloroso para ella y para todos nosotros. Ella no es un peligro, no es una criminal —es una madre que necesita a su familia, y una familia que la necesita desesperadamente de vuelta.
