Odin is a 5 year old German shepherd. He has become very unwell with an unknown issue that we are desperately trying to find out and treat.

He is showing discomfort, a lack of range of motion, inflammation and a lot of compensation issues through his body. After x rays the vets found his right hip luxates and he has very mild bilateral hip dysplasia. He has a physio team with regular appointments, prescribed on Onsior and Gabapentin from the vets daily and went through hydrotherapy and massage therapy,. However, he isn’t making progress so we have been recommended to go through further investigations with a specialist and more detailed scans to find out what’s happening with his hips.

This then took a turn when another more concerning issue appeared. He has started to have episodes of losing all function in all his legs, becoming very confused but still fully conscious. The first episode was only his back legs but now it’s all his legs, this will last a few minutes at a time and seems completely random when it happens. He has now been referenced under an emergency referral to Eden Referral Vets for a specialist and possible MRI.

He is the most loyal and happiest dog I have ever met, even when at his worst all he wants to do is his best for me.

This investigation and treatment will be more than our insurance will pay and we can afford. Any donations will be so very appreciated and be the steps we need to help this special dog!
