D'faces young actors take on Adelaide Fringe!
Donation protected
D'faces is a not for profit youth arts organisation based in Whyalla, South Australia. D'faces believes strongly in the transformative power of the arts. We exclusively present brand new work, developed for and with the talented young people that we work with.
'The Totally Unofficial and Classified Guide to Surviving the Impossible" was first developed in 2021, but we have redeveloped it as a 2 person show and our young actors are taking it to the 2024 Adelaide Fringe in March!
Getting a group of young people to Adelaide from regional SA, housing, feeding, and helping them have a true and proper fringe experience is no small feat, so we are calling out for YOUR help to get us on the road.
We want to show off what our regional kids are made of;
About the show:
"I had a dream that I killed someone, like - violently murdered them." And so the show begins. Our young artists take you on a truthful and hilarious journey through the teenage experience, from debating the morality of the Scream franchise, to playing barbie. 'The Totally Unofficial and Classified Guide to Surviving the Impossible' is part verbatim theatre, part reflection, on mental health, teenage identity, and the power of female friendship.
Developed with D'faces troupe, written by Michal Hughes.
Where's the money going?
This fundraising will cover accommodation and food costs for our team for one week at the Adelaide Fringe, allowing the young actors to not only perform in the fringe, but also experience the wonders the festival has to offer.
