Eric Tate’s Fight

Hey everyone -

On Christmas Eve of 2018, Eric Tate had his first seizure. After a second seizure on Christmas day of 2018, it was discovered that Eric had a tumor on the right side of the brain.  A few days later, Eric had full removal of that tumor. A biopsy of that tumor indicated that it was glioblastoma grade 4 and Eric was started on aggressive radiation and chemo treatments. He has had many ups and downs as a result of the tumor and treatments including losing ability in his left arm, loss of short term memory and difficulty walking. Most recently, Eric was taking Avastin treatments; however, those were not successful and the tumor has regrown to a state where it is no longer treatable. We remain hopeful that a miracle will happen,  but we are also preparing for the worst and he has been placed on hospice care.

Many of you are aware that Eric has 2 beautiful children that he loves and adores. Our aim is to ensure they are well taken care of and a potential funeral is not a burden on those that love him (me included!).

I know Eric has many, many friends that will be shocked by this news. He is an intensely private person and he wanted to keep this to himself as long as possible. Please know we are not giving up and will continue the fight!

I know it is a hard time for some due to COVID, so if you cannot donate, please know we are also accepting thoughts and prayers.
