Help our small business recover

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out today because our small family businesses have suffered a devastating loss, and we need your help to recover.

My husband and I own a small remodeling company and a small handyman company here in Colorado. We’ve spent years building these businesses from the ground up, working hard to provide quality service to our community and support our family. But on the morning of June 12th, everything changed.

Thieves broke into our work trailer — spray-painting the locks to signal that the trailer likely had valuables and returning later with bolt cutters. They stole over $10,000 worth of tools, most of which are tools my husband uses each day to do his job. These tools weren’t just equipment — they were the foundation of our livelihood.

We filed a police report but were told the chances of recovering the tools are slim to none. Our insurance claim was also denied because we didn’t have serial numbers recorded for many of the tools — something we never realized would be required until it was too late.

If you know Steve, you know he is a proud person and would never ask for any kind of help in this manner. However, this is a major blow to the companies and many of the items taken were tools he and his employees use daily.

No security system in place to prevent this from happening again
