Dezzi's Recovery: Community Support Needed

Hi! I'm Dezzi. I'm an in-home caregiver for developmentally disabled elderly that fall under the community protection program, and I've been doing this job for 7 years. My partner works with the homeless, bringing them supplies and helping with finding the assistance they need. We both care a lot about our community and really want to help. But... sometimes you have to know when to ask for help too.

I'm a big 31-year-old fun-loving skating nerd that lives with his wonderful partner of 8 years. We have four animals, 2 cats and 2 dogs. I am going in for a surgery in June that will leave me unable to lift my clients until I am fully healed. My doctor says this will take approximately 6 weeks.

Unfortunately, like many people in the United States, this surgery is only partially covered by insurance, and the world doesn't stop turning when a problem arises. Money only comes in so fast, and it'll be even slower when I'm healing and out of work.

I'm setting up this GoFundMe to ease the burden that'll be set on my partner and myself while I am unable to work. The money will go towards mortgage, bills, food, and paying for someone to walk our dogs. My partner works during the day and will be busy helping me after they return home, not leaving a whole lot of time for the dogs.
