Dexter's MRI and Cytosine treatment
Donation protected
Dexter is a Chihuahua approximately 9 years old and is suffering from auto immune disease and poli arthritis. Dexter came to me in December of 2016 from Get a Life Pet Rescue in south Florida who rescued him from the Broward County animal control. Dexter was with Get a Life for 2 years before he came into my life. They heard about what I had done with my previous senior Chihuahua, Chance who was 14 years old and suffering from kidney failure that I adopted from Hollydogs Greyhound Rescue. Chance was not given the best prognosis due to his kidney numbers, but I knew what ever time he had was going to be his best. Chance blessed my life for 1 year before crossing over the rainbow bridge to be with my other pets.Dexter lives in Orlando with his 2 Chihuahua Amigos, Freddie Mercury & Gruagh and Dexter being the 3rd Amigo. Dexter spends his days keeping our 3 cats in line, eating, and playing with his one toy that came with him. His brother Gruagh ( the toy hoarder) knows to leave that one alone. On the morning of 8/21 Dexter suffered a seizure and is currently unable to walk, eat and drink on his own. Our vet at Hunters Creek Animal Hospital did the initial blood work. The blood work came back showing his white blood cell counts were high, his red blood counts were low and low electrolytes. The Doctor started him on a seizure medication and we set up an appointment for the Neurologist at AVS in Maitland.Dexter is currently under the medical care at AVS in Maitland. He underwent X-rays and an ultra sound on his heart to see if his heart could withstand being put under anesthesia for the MRI procedure. If you can see fit to donate anything it will all be greatly appreciated and go towards the cost of his treatment and MRI. Anything above and beyond what we need will be donated to another organization to help another animal in need . If you are unable to donate at this time please keep Dexter in thoughts and prayers. Thank you for reading our story I will provide updates when I can
