Dexter the Boxer needs surgery
Donation protected
Back Story:
4 years ago, we had rescued boxer Koko from an abusive, life-threatening situation. We were fostering and looking for a forever home for Koko.
While we were fostering young Koko, we discovered that he needed TPLO surgery because he had torn his cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) in his left leg. Both of his hind legs were deformed, and, at the time of his surgery, the Orthopedist advised that statistically there was a 65% chance his right CCL could rupture as well.
We fell in love with Koko, and we ourselves became his forever family. He and our older boxer, Oscar, became close brothers.
Fast Forward 4 Years:
Koko is now 5 yrs. old and Oscar is 10. Oscar suffers from corneal dystrophy, a degenerative condition that impairs his eyesight. As Oscar's eye-sight has worsened, Koko has become his big bro's "service animal."
The Orthopedist's prediction was correct. Now Koko's right CCL needs the same surgery. Koko is a happy wonderful boy. He needs this surgery to maintain his mobility and quality of life as an important part of our family.
