Dexter Memorial Fund for Danny Suelter
Dear Friends/Acquaintances/Family/Followers/Fans of Dexter & Danny -
My name is Travis, and I'm sure like most of you, have known Danny for many years. Mostly in passing at the Saloon (where he would tolerate my super-manly cocktail orders of Malibu Pineapple with that smile), was lucky enough to have had a date or two with him, and even had a chance encounter at the Billboard Music Awards together in Las Vegas in 2017.
We all know, and would collectively agree, that Danny is a wonderful human being, and a staple in our community. And, anyone who knows Danny, knows something else too...he's a wonderful Dad to an amazing Pup named, Dexter.
Over the years, hundreds (if not, thousands) of us have fallen in love with this quirky pup, and if you're like me, envious of the bond that these two share. There is rarely a day that goes by that I don't watch an entire Facebook story of this determined 4-legged powerhouse come in from his late night walk, visit the security guard for a snack, take an elevator ride, patiently wait for that elevator door to open, to only take off like a sprinter bursting from his starting blocks after the elevator "Ding", in search of his reward around the corner. Seriously, the sounds of Dexter's feet hitting the carpet like a miniature stampede is too adorable for words.
So why am I writing to you today? Well, as I'm sure you've seen, today Danny is having to make a very difficult decision; one that truly shows his selfless dedication and love for his little boy. Although we can't do anything to prevent this heartache and pain, I thought maybe there is a way that we can collectively help Danny through this difficult time. Much like Dexter's little feet sounded like a stampede, if we each made a little contribution, we could create something that represents Dexter's legacy...a stampede of our own.
I want to be clear in stating that Danny did not ask me to create this fundraiser, this is something that I felt would be truly helpful, and a way to give back to him and Dexter. 100% of this fundraiser will go directly to Danny to do with as he so chooses, to help him heal and honor the memory of his best friend. Whether its a donation in Dexter's name to a dog charity, to help him take time off of work to adjust, or even just to assist with the recent medical expenses.
So if you've ever found yourself excited for the next crazy miniature costume idea that Danny comes up with to make us laugh, or looked forward to the yearly portrait with Santa and the Easter Bunny, or found yourself laughing in bed at 4am watching Dexter sprint his little heart out, I ask for your help in helping our friend.
If I've learned anything from Dexter's legacy, it would be this... Be patient for the doors in your life to open. Love everyone who crosses your path, they might just have a little something for you. Race like hell to find whatever it is you're looking for in life. And, NEVER GIVE UP, because sometimes that treat is just around the next corner.
