More information about Full Circle Equine Rehabilitation Center: Full Circle provides a place for horses and humans to recover and connect. Horses find their way to Full Circle thru owner release or removal due to neglect. People who share time and space with these horses find hope and joy and gather the strength to tackle their own obstacles. Horses and humans healing each other.
Full Circle Rescue took in two emaciated horses after their happy lives were turned upside down. Fric and Frac are mother and son flea bitten gray Arabians. These two horses had a wonderful owner who lived and cared for them. They lived in a nice barn with an automatic waterer and plenty of food. The poor elderly woman, who owned them passed away, but no one knew right away. It took a whole month for the neighbors to call for a well check. When they came to investigate they found the two horses locked in their stall with the food just out of reach on the other side of their stall door. Fric and Frac were emaciated, but thankfully alive because of the automatic waterer. Full Circle Equine Rehabilitation Center owner and founder Cris Pemberton was contacted . Cris found these two Arabians a spot in the Rescue Barn and repeatedly checked on them. They were fed a handful of food every hour until they could safely eat normal amounts. As they gained strength their energy returned and they began filling out. They are now fully recovered and living in two stalls with a shared paddock in the Rescue Barn. We love having these silly personalities hanging around the barn. Right now Cris is having a personal battle of her own against stage 4 cancer and we are asking that you consider alleviating some of her worries by supporting these two members of Full Circle. We appreciate anything you are able to donate tremendously! Even a donation of $5 or $10 is very helpful and will be put to good use. Thank you so much for supporting these two and helping give them the proper care they need like hoof trimming, worming, alfalfa, and more especially as the prices of everything are rising so rapidly!
Frac is the quirkier one out of this duo. He is very vocal especially at dinner time or when communicating with his young friend to his right ( Willow a mare that lives in the stall next to him). His favorite scratch spot is his withers and when it feels so good he just can't stand it ( which is most of the time), he stretches out his neck and makes a funny face, showing his teeth as his lip curls upward. Frac has taught us a lot. When we first met him Cris warned us that he had a biting problem. This stems from the fact that he loves to explore the world with his mouth. This silly goofball loves a pacifier. If you go to muck his stall he will beg to chew on the end of your rake. Frac is smart and loves human interaction. When he realized the more he bit the less he got scratches his need for human companionship won out over his obsession to taste everything. Now he will make us laugh because you can be scratching his favorite itch spot and just when you can tell he really wants to nibble he turns his head the other direction or lifts it higher as he continues to make his funny face. Horses reflect humans in so many ways, in his case he was the spoiled little kid who couldn't share. When he finally realized that people didn't like to be around him unless he too was kind he decided to change his tune. Self- control is really hard and he still struggles, but it is an important lesson for us all. I love learning lessons from horses!
Come meet Fric! Fric is a flea bitten gray Arabian mare. It looks like a painter came and lightly flicked flecks of brown paint across her white coat. Her eyes are big, brown, and very expressive. I love how she has beautiful white eyelashes. Fric is mostly white, has fewer spots than her son, and is much shorter than him. She is so gentle and kind in her stall that you almost forget she is an Arabian, but when mother and son are allowed to run loose in the outdoor arena you can see it shine through. Despite her age she has that spunk that allows her to prance and play. Fric and Frac's neighbor to their right is a giant warmblood mare named Soney. Soney and Fric have a bitter sweet relationship that is comical to watch. These two old mares will sometimes decide to be friends in a sweet harmony and other days you may hear some high pitched squeals from their direction, but both are sweet girls. I love to watch when they are happily standing next to each other at the entrance of their stalls awaiting dinner and visitors. In general Fric rules the pen. She holds her ground against Soney across the fence and keeps Frac in line. Most of the time peace reigns in their pen and mother and son happily groom each other, eat, sleep, and relax.
My name is Chretienne and I volunteer at Full Circle with my Family. Cris Pemberton, founder and owner of Full Circle Rehabilitation Center is a good friend of ours. Over the last few years we have gained the friendships of both people and animals that matter deeply to us. We love each of the animals that live in this barn. It is amazing to get to bond with each of them and watch our relationships change. They each have a unique and special personality. It is a lot of fun watching your hard work benefit such an amazing critter! We enjoy grooming them, mucking stalls, cleaning pens, troughs, and doing so much more. I especially love it when the temperature is cool outside and the sun is shining and I just get to spend time with one of these special equines! There are so many studies that show horses help with mental issues, anxiety, and other health problems. Just spending time with them is a great way to relax and decompress. Full Circle is a great place for volunteer opportunities. We love both the people and animals we have engaged with here. Cris has different groups of people coming out to her property like chemical dependency groups, Salish School of Spokane, private parties, and more. Cris really believes in community outreach and helping people wherever she can so Full Circle is a wonderful place to support! It has also allowed us to make great friends and feel like a community as we work together for a common goal. We all want to send you a big "thank you" for your donation! Fric and Frac are such good horses and deserve all the care they can get. We would really appreciate it if you would like and share this to as many people as you can. They are a piece of Full Circle so thanks again for supporting them!
