Hey it’s Dom. Tuesday evening I ran into Justine as she was walking out of the pet hospital on Hastings, still in shock and with a few scratches on her face. She had just dropped Dewey off for emergency surgery after a terrible incident at the dog park.

While Dewey was playing with another dog at the dog park, the other dog’s intoxicated owner pulled the dogs apart and Dewey had a bit of a reaction, barking, snapping. The other dog reacted back by attacking Dewey‘a hind-end while Justine tried to separate the dogs. In a matter of moments, Dewey received several deep punctures to his hind legs, and his tail got mangled. Thankfully the vets were able to get Dewey in immediately, and hopefully he makes a full recovery.

The other owners don’t seem to be in a position to pay for anything, regardless of fault, which isn’t really the point one way or another.

Justine has taken on these expenses at a transitional time, just when she’s started going back to school to change careers. Money is tight, and the vet bill came out to about $900.

I’m hoping between friends we’re able to help Justine cover some or most of these costs, so she can stay focused on school and Dewey‘s recovery.

Please share with friends, and donate if you can. Any thing helps!
