Help A Devoted Single Dad in LA Survive & Thrive

Hi everyone! I first want to start off simply by thanking you so much for even taking the time to read this. My name is Robert Gonzalez but I perform as a singer and pianist under the name Robby Fontana. I’m a devoted single dad to an amazing 11 year old daughter named Sofia. She is my everything. Every day I work as hard as I can as a musician to provide for her and for myself.
It’s not easy doing this in Los Angeles, where everything tends to be expensive, but this is where I have to be, because of child custody and also because I am still working towards a life long dream of being an established and in demand recording artist/performer/entertainer.
I’ve been working at this for a very long time… ever since I was 19 years old. I attended Berklee College of Music in Boston and majored in piano performance. I have worked so hard to be the best pianist, vocalist and songwriter I can be.
Well… as fate would have it. Now seems to be the moment when my skills and all the years of experience have all finally come together to put myself in… possibly for the first time… in a genuine position to finally and fully achieve the goal that I set out to accomplish when I was a young kid.
Along the way, I’ve dealt with some challenges and tragic loss. I lost one of my older sisters in a car crash, later my younger brother in a small plane crash, and a year and a half ago I lost my dad, who fortunately lived a very long life. My dad loved me so much but he never really got to see me have the success I wanted for myself and that I wanted him to witness. He was the ultimate role model and literally one of the hardest working people I’ve ever known…. This new music album effort will honor his legacy... while also being dedicated to my daughter.
This past December, I lost both of my steady gigs at the same time (due to hotel budget cutbacks) and, in all honesty, I was not prepared for losing 80% of my income all at once. I’m still recovering from the fall out of that…. So any help even towards that is hugely appreciated…
But what I am really trying to do is get together enough money so I can record my next album and not have to worry about doing so many gigs to pay the rent/my bills for the next few months so I can really focus on making a great album while also fulfilling my duties as a single father. I have the contacts to put together an amazing production team, but everyone knows now that it’s actually the digital marketing that really creates a successful album/music career…. So some of the money will go towards hiring an expert to help me with that.
I recently performed a cover of Billy Joel’s new song “Turn The Lights Back On” and I did it LIVE without any edits, overdubs, or auto tune. Please take a listen/watch to the video I included a link to if you are curious about my talent. I have been receiving rave reviews for my version of Billy’s song.
My goal is create an entire album of piano based songs… Similar to Billy’s latest single but also similar to Adele’s “Easy On Me”. I want the music stripped down so that my voice really shines. I’m also working on bringing in top notch co-writers to help me fine tune the huge batch of songs that I already have which I’ve never recorded and hopefully also write some brand new ones.
There will also be some classic covers on this album as I love not only the music of Billy Joel and Elton John but also the music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett and so many other classic crooners. There will have to be at least one or two crooner type songs on this album! I’d be doing myself a little disfavor if I didn’t.
All in all, I’m hoping and praying for some assistance to help me keep going and with any luck, put myself in a position where I’m not barely scraping by as a music artist after working so hard for so long. Anything you can contribute will help. And I will be forever in your debt… thank you so very much, on behalf of my daughter and myself… we thank you sincerely. ✨
