Make Devorah’s Lithuania trip possible, and boost her impact

Hi, I'm Devorah Wainer, an educator, an activist, and a devotee of Emmanuel Levinas' philosophy. For the past two decades, I've dedicated myself to applying his ethics to pressing issues like community building, social justice, and human rights. And now, I've been invited to a prestigious week-long gathering at Vilnius University in Lithuania (the birthplace of Levinas). Alongside ten top international scholars, I'll be sharing how Levinas' ideas can tackle real-world challenges.
This gathering is a pivotal opportunity for me, to engage with influential thinkers on a global scale. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of $2000 from Mandelbaum House in Sydney, and $600 from another donor, we’re about half way to our goal. I still need your support to raise the remaining $2715 through this GoFundMe campaign.
In response to the Holocaust, Levinas showed a pathway to recovering our humanity. He taught us how to be in our encounters with another. I've seen firsthand how applying Levinas' teachings can transform relationships, inform policy making, and inspire environmental stewardship.
And I want to amplify the impact of his teachings. Your support will create a ripple effect. It will enable me to share my practical insights with scholars who can bring these ideas to classrooms, publications, and conversations with people who can make a difference.
Your donation can also support more than just this trip. Any surplus will help fund the writing of my next book, to make Levinas' ideas accessible to everyone.
Please, donate what you can and share this campaign with your friends, family, and networks. Your contribution will connect you to a community dedicated to making a difference through Levinas' ideas. Thank you for being a part of this movement towards a more compassionate and just world.
