Devon's Boston Marathon Run for the Women's Club

Hi friends!

 

I am incredibly excited and honored to be running the 2022 Boston Marathon on behalf of the Hopkinton Women's Club. To be able to support a women's group in my hometown speaks to who I am and where I come from. This group of women and their initiatives provide meaningful community outreach that quietly improves the lives of many in the Hopkinton community. Many of the women involved in this organization supported me while I was a student in Hopkinton and it is my privilege to give back.

Founded in 1920, the mission of the Hopkinton Women’s Club is to improve the community through volunteer service including philanthropic, educational, cultural and social events for members and the community.

 

In 2021-2022 alone the Hopkinton Women’s Club has given to the following causes:

 

Baypath Humane Society

Caring Bags – members contribute toiletries and bags given to various charities

HWC Family Support Fund

Hopkinton Historical Society

Hopkinton Food Pantry – Price Chopper gift certificates three times/year

Hopkinton Public Library

Michael Lisnow Respite Center

Project Just Because – members donate birthday bags 2-3 times/year

 

Scholarships and Awards:

Mary McDonough Community Service Award

Junior Endeavor Award

8th grade Endeavor Award

Town Scholarships - ($500 scholarship/graduating Hopkinton HS Seniors)

Project Just Because – filled backpacks for back to school

Friends of Hopkinton Senior Center Outreach

Senior Center Veteran’s Breakfast - once a year

Special Olympics – Hopkinton Chapter

Additional charitable giving as need arises.

Red Cross Blood Drives at Faith Community Church
