Hey there, I'm Devon, a recent honors graduate from New College of Florida with a degree in computer science. It's been a rollercoaster ride since then. Last December, I started experiencing intense pain and discomfort, and unfortunately, it turned out to be testicular cancer. It hit me like a ton of bricks, especially as I was just beginning to find my way after college. I underwent surgery right before Christmas to remove the tumor, and the recovery was grueling. I had to take three weeks off work. Now, I'm in the middle of Chemo therapy and feeling the full blown effects on my body, thus requiring more time off . And to add to the stress, there's the financial burden. I've been trying to make ends meet with a job as a valet, but with the hard job market, it's been tough. The medical bills keep stacking up, and with insurance costs doubling due to the high deductibles, it's been overwhelming.
